You’ve heard of homeschooling. You’ve maybe even heard of unschooling. But what, exactly, is Funschooling?
Funschooling is exactly what it sounds like – learning built around fun and games.
“Sure,” you may be thinking, “games are great on occasion, to reinforce real lessons. But building your entire curriculum around toys, games and play? There’s no way you can actually enforce rigorous learning in an environment like that.”
Or maybe you’re thinking, “that sounds wonderful, but I am not creative or crafty enough to come up with new games for every single lesson. That sounds exhausting!”
I’m here to tell you that, yes, learning built around toys, games and play can actually result in exceptional academic performance. And you don’t have to be creative or crafty to do it. Some days it can take a bit of time and preparation, and other days it just means letting your kids take the lead and gently guiding them as they provide the ingenuity and creativity.
The end result is not only enhanced learning, but improved problem-solving skills, a thirst for learning, and my favorite part, an enhanced relationship where you can get to know your kids on a deeper level.
It’s not always easy, but with a little dedication, the rewards can be incomparable.
Join me on this journey and see how you, too, can step into the Funschooling Life.
